Celtic Witch

In January everything slows down including Etsy orders.  This gives me time to work on designs and ideas that have been in the back of my mind.

This witch is from the Celtic tradition, dressed in shades of green with a Celtic Knot charm on her hat.  The embroidery echos the knot design and the semi-precious chips are aventurine and carnelian- colors often seen in Celtic images.

My ancestors came from Great Britten and France.  Celtic imagery is very powerful for me.  My Etsy shop and this blog are named after the great goddess Bridgit (Bride, Brigid, etc.) with ties to the ancient understanding of witchcraft: wisdom, transformation, healing.

I was happy to find this shade of auburn wool locks for her hair on Etsy.   It is beautiful.
